🏆 Award-winning from the Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce in the "Business Reinvention" category.

After the pandemic was declared in March 2020. Businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises in Ecuador, found themselves in an unfamiliar scenario. This health crisis directly impacted their business models, as they relied entirely on traditional sales and cash transactions. In response to this challenge, Ecuador's leading payment company —our client—, recognized the urgent need among their customers. Together, in only two months, we ideated and execute Datalink from the scratch. Solution that helped more than 10.000 businesses the first year launched.

Goal
Develop a payment solution to sell online without a website

Solution
Payment Links for businesses to sell their products or services online

Requirements

In this project, we have the goal to develop for two different platforms, three distinct interfaces based on the user types:

  • End customers: Seamless navigation flow for customers accessing the payment link.

  • Business Cashiers: User-friendly module enabling the creation of payment links, along with a comprehensive dashboard to monitor link statuses.

  • Administrators: Streamlined dashboard facilitating sales record-keeping, employee profile management, and efficient sales tracking.

Primary Research

For the development of this digital solution, social aspects and behaviors were investigated to serve as insights. According to the report from the Ecuadorian Chamber of Electronic Commerce:

  • In 2019, only 21% of the population had made online purchases, indicating a lack of trust and familiarity with e-commerce.

  • 98% of the population with internet access preferred using mobile phones to browse the internet.

  • Businesses preferred using WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook as their sales channels due to a lack of capital and time to create a website.

  • National poverty was around 32.2% the previous year, the population faced a terrible economic crisis and rely on credit cards until they could reach their normal income.

  • Over 71% of the population had smartphones, but these devices had limited storage, preventing users from downloading apps.

Insights Conclusion

We need a solution for credit card payments that allows business to manage sales through their preferred channels. Easy enough to share on various platforms, and does not require downloading an app to be used.
